Introducing… the WP-United User Manual

Filed under: Release Announcements — Jhong at 2:30 am on Sunday, June 28, 2009

I’m pleased to announce the first draft of the WP-United User Manual.

This will soon be available with all downloads of WP-United, and should be useful reading for both new and existing users of WP-United.

There is still more to add — it is a work in progress. When it is completed, it will form the basis of a new wiki here at WP-United.com. In the meantime, you are free to edit or add to it.

WP-United v0.7.1 released

Filed under: Release Announcements — Jhong at 1:08 am on Saturday, June 13, 2009

I’m pleased to announce an updated release of WP-United. This is a stability release — it fixes several bugs uncovered since the release of v0.7.0, and works with the newly released WordPress 2.8.

It also includes one new feature hotly requested in the forums — you can choose to have comments for posts cross-posted from WordPress to phpBB automatically closed, and a link added to the forum thread.

The full changelog is:

  • NEW: Auto-linking of cross-posted posts’ comments to the forum.
  • FIXED: Error with WordPress 2.8 final
  • FIXED: (regression) List of forums with cross-posting permissions not correct in wp-admin
  • FIXED: posts not cross-posting if post is first saved as a draft
  • FIXED: Couple of mistakes in install.xml causing errors in AutoMod
  • FIXED: Regression in session invocation was causing autologin to stop workig with some setups
  • FIXED: Some plugins caused widgets to be executed in wp-admin, where wp-united widgets aren’t designed to run, causing errors.

As always, you can download the latest version of WP-United on our Download Page.
