If you are interested in testing or modifying WP-United code, you should check out the WP-United Build Environment. I have just updated it to use the latest phpBB and WordPress.

WP-United Build Environment

Developing a phpBB Mod — especially one as large as WP-United, can be very time consuming if you have to manually keep track of files you modify in your development web server, and copy them back and forth between your source tree. Constantly re-installing phpBB and WordPress is also a pain.

The build environment auto-installs WordPress and phpBB (and AutoMod) according to a config file set by you. It also links in the WP-United source so you don’t need to keep track of file modifications.

The Build Environment will run under any Linux distro, and can be checked out from SVN here: http://www.wp-united.com/svn/build_environment/ . It is only suitable for private, development web servers.

A full readme is included to help get you started.

For people who aren’t interested in hacking: Sorry, this isn’t relevant for you, but the good news is that now this is up to date, a new release of v0.8 will be much quicker.
