I've had a common issue with 2.8 where I've not been able to stay logged into the WordPress Dashboard, so I need to upgrade to 2.9 - I'm getting an error on the front though after upgrading and adding the line mentioned above.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_admin() in /home2/mature/public_html/wp-includes/vars.php on line 16

The forums work though? Any thoughts

I am still aiming for Christmas, but I've slipped back by a day or so.

The good news is that there is new cross-posting code in, which automatically links follow-up comments to cross-posted blog posts to forum replies. It's pretty cool (even if I do say so myself) -- even responses written here will go in the correct place in the forum, and vice versa.

The bad new is that, largely because of this, I ended up doing a lot of clean-up and re-factoring of code that I was putting off until v0.9. In the long run, this is good news, but I can't just release it without a day or two of thorough testing.

I'll probably release a preview package on Christmas day that is suitable for a live forum, but mainly intended for testing, or for people waiting on old bugfixes, with the final version out shortly thereafter.

Markmason: Look in options.php, at the bottom there is an option to "disable header fix" -- set it to true.

Hi again
Since your last advice, which worked perfectly I just changed a setting in phpbb3 wp-united tab. The setting I changed was to make phpbb appear inside wordpress full page. However, I now cannot get into any part of my phpbb and receive the following error on a blank white page. I assume that no users can get in either. I would really appreciate some urgent help in reverting back to no integration of phpbb and wp templates! Here is the error message:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /wp-united/wp-template-loader.php on line 218: Wrong parameter count for preg_replace()

I'm looking forward to it! I can't imagine developing in this environment. It seems like trying to hit a moving target!
