v0.8.4 is here, and brings a few bug fixes and improvements.

Get it from the downloads page. To upgrade from v0.8.x, simply copy over all the new files in /root, and then purge your phpBB cache. For upgrading from older versions, or installing fresh, please see the README included.

  • NEW: auto-installer replaces the manual wpu-installer.php
  • Fixed comments closed for global announcements when they shouldn’t be.
  • Fixed unreliable display of comment date/time
  • Added better error catching for when WP-United isn’t installed properly
  • Fixed timezone of cross-posts
  • Improved BBCode & magic URL checking in cross posts
  • Fixed errors with user blogs list, and improved login_userinfo template tag
  • Fixed username incorrect when editing cross-posted posts
  • Fixed integration error message after updating password or username under some circumstances
  • .. and a few other bug fixes too dull to list here.

Happy blogging!

Just thought I’d let you know, everything looks great! Glad to see the crossposted links are working now even with the elipses.

Remember, let me know when you start on .9 and need some input and/or testing.

Cool — let me know how it goes.

I’m still on the fence about v0.8.5, so I’m adding all the simple feature enhancements first before making the bigger changes.

Hi Jhong!
I’m working with the full cross-post of my site posts in the forum and I have noticed these problem:
1) If I edit a wordpress post of another author (that isn’t cross posted), and I cross post it, in the relative forum post the author isn’t the original post’s author but me!
2) If a site use the cross posts for every post, the forced option is a fantastic thing, but rarely, may need to post in other categories of the forum; so, it would be more fantastic to be able to provide the ability to change the category of the forum (in the Wordpress post page) for these rare occasions. For example, a small button "change category"…
This way you can keep always on the forced-cross-posting to one forum category, but at the same time, the chance to choose another type of forum without having to disable the forced-cross-posting.

I hope that is clear, of course I’m here for any clarification.

Thanks. I just want to make sure that this works with WP 2.9 and PHPBB 3? (Both latest software?)

Much appreciate this superb effort!
