Customized solutions and pricing

Our main focus is on providing customized, bespoke solutions, derived by first developing a detailed understanding of your needs and desired outcomes. As such, it is impossible to provide a “one size fits all” menu of prices.

However, below we provide an indicative price list for basic ad-hoc tasks. Note that these prices are only indicative, and will vary based on time required, complexity, ease of access to your server and schedule. Basic installation does not usually include design services, such as creating a site theme.

We can do much more than this — but for more complex requirements, we’ll need to talk first before we can pin down a price.

Support WP-United development

Please note that pricing is relatively cheap — the aim is to fund WP-United development and cover time costs, while improving WP-United. Our aim is to provide affordable, down-to-earth services by leveraging our intimate knowledge of WP-United, while striving to make WP-United sustainable.

If you’re an experienced developer and don’t need our services, we still hope you will donate to help sustain the project. We rely on those contributions!

Communication

Initial contact is via e-mail, by filling in the contact form below. We aim to respond to all e-mails within 12 hours, but please allow some leeway due to time differences (we are based in Asia (GMT + 8); and the UK, (GMT) ).

When collaborating on a project, we aim to communicate as much as necessary. We prefer e-mail or IM, but do offer VoIP and telephone.

You will also have access to a private WP-United forum, if you prefer to communicate in a forum environment. The forum is only available to clients, so you can post URLs and file paths (but NOT passwords) in confidence.

Payment

All payment must be made via PayPal (or NoChex if you are based in the UK). These services do not require you to be a member to pay, and offer consumer protection.

We require a deposit prior to project commencement, with the full balance paid once the final site has been verified, prior to final uploading to your server.

So that we’re on the same page, the commencement of any work is subject to agreement to a few basic terms of service and a statement of deliverables.

Subcontractors / Subcontractees: Welcome!

Please feel free to enquire if you would like to subcontract us for part of a larger project.

Additionally, if you are a freelance PHP developer or web designer, Please contact us. If we are busy, we would be happy to collaborate to get things done, and might send work your way.

Copyright

Any data, templates and code incorporated into your website will remain your property under your licensing terms during and following any work we perform. We will not retain any client data or server access information subsequent to completion of our work. However we do request that, you grant us only a temporary SSH or (S)FTP account, that is deleted or has its password changed once we have finished. In addition, if we do find bugs in or enhance core WP-United code, we will roll them into WP-United so all users can benefit.

WP-United code itself is released under the GNU GPL. You can use it however you wish, as long as you (a) attribute WP-United as the original creators; and (b) if you offer it or any derivative for download or as a service, you must release the resultant code under the same license. Of course, we would prefer to discuss such arrangements first.

Note that this only applies to offering WP-United for download or installing it as a service to others — not for using WP-United to display your site to users or for distributing your own products or services via a WP-United site.
