Advanced BBCode Box 3

Postby DhrRob » Thu 07 Feb, 2013 9:33 pm

I've updated to the latest version of WP-United (v0.9.2.4 Release Candidate 3) which solves my earlier bug that doesn't display the right view count.

Got another (much worse) bug however, which made me reroll back to the previous patch. It screws up the Advanced BBCode Box 3, on medium and full template intergration, with the magic off, it doesn't happen, but other naughty things happen :(

Here's a screenshot.

Hi,

Yes, the view count bug is fixed...

Not sure if this new one is counted as a bug yet or just a display glitch affecting a single theme....

Can you do me a screenshot of what it should look like? Is it just the alignment of the text area (i.e. the text area is slightly too wide so gets pushed down)?

What I suspect is happening is that the updated style-fixer in v0.9.2.4 is doing a better job at passing through some stylesheet elements, but I'm not sure what they are yet...

Ideally I'd be able to see it in it's broken state.... or, even better, if you have the patience, would be a dump of the CSS generated with v0.9.2.4 and v0.9.2.3, so I could see the differences side-by-side...

Should look like this.

It's probably just a minor display glitch, but I don't know how to fix it :(

I know what the problem is, i just need to find where the damn thing is.

here's what i found :
Image
when the .element style is disabled, the abbcode box will render normally on the page, at least in posting; i didn't check anywhere else but I'm assuming it works on others, all i need is to find where this damn thing is, it doesn't tell me; i'll keep looking at it to try to find it but any help is appreciated!

K, update, i solved it myself; i don't know if it's the right way to do it (I'm pretty noobish when it comes to coding)

but heres how i did it

In root/styles/prosilver/template

Open : posting_abbcode_buttons.html

FIND :
Code: Select all
<table id="abbc3posttable" width="100%"

REPLACE WITH
Code: Select all
<table id="abbc3posttable"

leave the rest untouched or edited at your own desires.

seems to work as well in pm's however one button cascades to another line, but i guess thats with the number of buttons and the actual size of the box.

Thanks very much for posting back.

I wonder -- instead of making your edit -- if adding:
Code: Select all
#wpucssmagic #abbc3posttable {
      width: auto !important;
}

to wp-united/theme/reset.css
Works too?

If so, then I'll be able to include the fix in wp-united

Sorry for the late reply, both solutions work. Frostyhawk's solution works better though, as the reset.css fix only makes it more wide (wide enough, but not full width).

Got a new problem with abbcode however that came with the latest patch, whatever I press (bbcodes) it doesn't throw them into the post.

Thanks for your help!

I have the same issue using DVGFX by: Matt

I too found the fix with inspect element however, could not find the appropriate file to edit, it was making me :crazy:

:thumbup: Well done, :clap:

Haven't tried this fix yet but I hope to get a chance today. so glad to see this post :D

PS: Note the colour chooser is not working on this site, I shouldn't :lol: but it make me feel better about my own shortcomings with code

Put them together in the reset.css and I get success

This works for me:

In:
wp-united/theme/reset.css
Add this
Code: Select all
#wpucssmagic #abbc3posttable {
      width: 100% !important;
}

Hope it works for you :clap:
